Rosette Nebula in Ha

rosette nebula Ha Megrez 90

Rosette Nebula in Ha

This image taken on 16 January 2012 is my first CCD image.

Exposure details: 26 x 10 minute guided exposures (= 4 hours 20 min total) through my William Optics Megrez 90 refractor at prime focus with an Atik 314L+ CCD camera. Bias and flat field frames also taken. A Baader 7nm Hydrogen Alpha filter was used as this region is rich in this wavelength and the filter is very effective as a light pollution filter.

Very nice Rossette, narrowband images tend to suffer less from light pollution as you noted.
