B22 222 IC 2087 LRGB

B22 222 IC 2087 LRGB

Barnard 22 is a large dark nebula located in Taurus. It seems to obscure the whole area including IC 2087, the nebula located at the center of the image. The darker area to the northwest of center above the star is separately cataloged as Barnard 222.

Luminance – 26x600s – 260 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

380 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 20 minutes

Imaged from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri (a red zone) over three nights in October and November, 2013 and January, 2014 with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90DT at f/6.7 603mm.

I imaged this over more nights because I thought I was catching clouds but the whole area must contain a bunch of dust that obscures everything.
