Sh2 273   HaRGB

Sharpless 273 (also known as LBN 911) is a large area located in Monoceros. The Cone Nebula and the Christmas Tree Cluster, collectively known as NGC 2264) are two of the highlights located within it. These objects are located approximately 2,600 light-years away. Barnard 39 is located at the top right of the image.


Ha – 12x1800s – 360 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

480 minutes total exposure – 8 hours

Imaged from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri over three nights in October and November, 2013 with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
