Cr 399   Sh2 83   LRGB

Collinder 399 (also known as Brocchi’s Cluster) is a grouping of stars located in Vulpecula. The brighter stars form the Coathanger asterism.

Sharpless 83 is the small red area near the bottom center in the image.

There are several dark nebula including LDN 735 at the bottom left.

Luminance – 9x600s – 90 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

210 minutes total exposure – 3 hours 30 minutes

Imaged October 10th, 2013 at the Danville Conservation Area (New Florence, Missouri) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.

Note that this image has been rotated 180 degrees to show the ‘coathanger’.
