Hi all:

It has been awhile since I've visited or contributed to Inside Astronomy.  However, during my absence, I have been very busy taking wide field sky images of DSO, meteors, and the recent bright comets of 2013.

I will post a few now, but you can visit my Flickr sites and surf my collection.

I have been using my Nikon d7000 DX DSLR camera with mostly my new Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 lens.  With the DX camera, this creates an equivalent lens of 270mm with for example using the Nikon d700 FX (Full Frame) DSLR camera.  Using Astrotrac for my clock drive, I have been able to get nice 2 minute exposures at high iso (i.e., 2000 to 3200).

A very nice collection Jan,

And it shows what you can achieve with normal photographic equipmant and an astro-track.

Comet Lovejoy is on my list of things to do is the mist and fog every lift! :(
