I recently purchased a new EQ5 Pro and an ED80 APO Triplet to mount on to it. Tracking is a little hit and miss on times, but this is down to me using the mount on grass as I have nowhere else to erect the mount at the moment.

I mentioned my equipment to a few people I was chatting to the other day, and they told me that I should  sell the EQ5 Pro and purchase the HEQ5.

I understand that the HEQ5 is a far better and also more expensive mount, but why woul dthe EQ5 not be sufficent enough for such a small ED80?

Thanks in advance :)

I own an EQ5 Pro and an ED80, I found a PEC session was well worth the time and effort and is easy to do. I have a HEQ5 as well that is a totally different beast and great for AP both with the ED80 and MN190.
