Interesting mate,

Though I can't find much about it on the web? Would like to know the weight capacity etc and if it can be used for EqMod (this is a direct replacement for cg5.)

Maybe up there with the Heq5 but with a smaller footprint? I found a price on a US site for $799.

Looks nice but would like to know if this also sounded like a tin of nuts and bolts being shook up when it slews, like the original CG5 does.

Matt

I think the payload might be slightly less on this mount compared with the CG5.

It gives the capacity if 14kg there,HEQ5 is 15kg. The new mount also uses encoders which should help with the goto's etc just need real world tracking feedback. Still very interesting I'll wait for some proper reviews and see how it performs. Got to be better then the fated lemon that is the Meade Lx80

Never heard much of the LX80 even after all the hype, i think all dealers do this, It gets hyped up so much before release. As you say Matt, wait & see. But I won't be 1st to get one...

No the lx80 was an epic fail, loads of problems and most customers returning them, from what I read anyway.

I don't know if I'd buy one unless there where a lot of benefits! The advance vx that is not the lx80

This mount will go down in the astronomy history books as one of

the best and cheapest mounts ever made i have no doubt motors

are even better than my cgem dx and its three times the price they

sound very like the Cge Pro motors just way smaller.

they are already shipping not like meade six months later and still problems

i heard their to be 750-800 euro it crushes everything else in its range

Skywatcher HEQ-5/ Celestron  CG-5 even mounts from vixan that its based

on or Losmandy GM8 that double the price i think maybe celestron will ask

for maybe 900 euro in europe.

TS are selling these @ 1000.00 Euros + Shipping, if that is the going rate for one of these mounts, then UK prices are probably likely to hit around £800 - 850.00.

That means £100 more expensive then the HEQ5 Pro & less then the NEQ6 Pro, It might be better saving another £100 for the latter.

It also seems to fix the Dec Cogging Issue found on way to many CGEMs.

i now think its a little overpriced but it will go down it should be 800 euro

or about 720 pounds not a 1000 euro but they always start like this look

at the Cge pro 6500 euro four years ago now 4200 euro and TS told me

its to go down further because of the EQ-8.
